In what some have called a very favorable settlement for an individual allegedly involved in a significant bribery scheme, a Cognizant executive has agreed to pay $50,000 and continue to cooperate with the government to settle FCPA allegations with the SEC. The executive was charged in February 2019, when Cognizant settled its corporate FCPA case with the SEC for $25 million. Matters are still pending against two other executives in the District of New Jersey, and the SEC may be using this case to build its case against them.
