A Look at Corruption in Latin America

The Biden administration has come out strongly against corruption, with a particular focus on Latin America. “Part of giving people hope is having a very specific commitment to rooting out corruption in the region,” Vice President Kamala Harris said during her recent visit to Guatemala. Recent years have seen fits and starts in anti-corruption progress in Latin America – reforms passed in legislatures and high-profile arrests, but also politicization and weaponizing of anti-corruption efforts.
