Fresenius and Pearson Compliance Directors Discuss Building a Community Inside and Outside of the Company

Connecting with employees is one important part of a compliance officer’s role, and connecting with the compliance community across industries can make many parts of that role easier, Mary Shirley, senior director of ethics and compliance at Fresenius Medical Care North America, and Lisa Fine, director, compliance for the Americas at Pearson Education, told the Anti-Corruption Report. Shirley and Fine, the hosts of the Great Women in Compliance podcast and the associated LinkedIn group, shared their approaches to establishing relationships with employees and communicating with them effectively, and also discussed how they built their compliance networks outside of their companies and industries. See “MGM’s Approach to Compliance Messaging: An Updated Code, Engaging Training and Unique Messaging” (Nov. 28, 2018).
