Cain and Kahn Offer Insights on FCPA Enforcement to an International Audience

Last year saw a decline in the number of announced FCPA enforcement actions, but record-breaking settlement amounts and individual charges and convictions, with a few major policy developments and a substantial number of self-reports and whistleblower reports, panelists at a recent International Bar Association event said. Charles Cain, Chief of the FCPA Unit of the SEC Division of Enforcement; Daniel Kahn, Chief of the Fraud Section of the DOJ’s Criminal Division; Ann Sultan, member of Miller & Chevalier; Marc Alain Bohn, senior counsel at VF Corporation; and Jessica Tillipman, assistant dean at George Washington University School of Law, offered their personal views on the impact of a challenging year on the current FCPA enforcement environment through an international lens.
