Due diligence helps to protect an organization’s reputation and to decide whether it makes sense to engage a particular third party for a particular purpose, explained Melina Llodra, a partner at Llodra Law, in a recent SCCE program. It is “an ongoing must in any compliance program for organizations either physically operating in Latin America or operating through third parties in Latin America,” she cautioned. Llodra and her associate Aldana Barrichi examined the key challenges of conducting effective third-party due diligence in the region and offered strategies for mitigating corruption risk when working with third parties there. This article distills their insights. See "Lessons From Airbus on Third-Party Corruption Risk Mitigation” (May 25, 2022).
