From the COVID-19 pandemic causing factory shutdowns and shipping bottlenecks, to U.S.-imposed China sanctions that have implicated nearly every industry around the world, and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the pile-on sanctions that have followed – the last two years have brought unprecedented disruptions to global supply chains. During a panel discussion at this fall’s ACAMS conference in Las Vegas, sanctions compliance experts discussed the current global supply-chain challenges, including how the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act has affected on companies’ compliance programs, and the relationship between sanctions enforcement, increasing regulatory compliance obligations, and voluntary responsible business conduct initiatives.
