Kenya, a major transportation hub in East Africa, in recent years has experienced infrastructure development, a resurgent tourism industry following a 2013 terrorist attack at a mall in Nairobi and a high-profile 2015 visit from President Barack Obama. While Kenya’s growth signifies more investment opportunities for local and foreign companies, the improved economy has not developed without growing pains, notably in the form of corruption. The Anti-Corruption Report spoke to Aisha Abdallah, a partner at the Africa Legal Network in Nairobi, about the top corruption risks for companies doing business in Kenya and how they can be mitigated.
